Un-packing this a little more below..... (and looking at why we've landed up needing a rescue package to employ GPs when we desperately need to employ more GPs...)
š¢ Director of Policy & Research @BecksFisher responds to new GP funding: positive recognition that urgent action is needed & Govtās focus on GP is welcome, but ultimately a workaround that risks unintended consequences

Others tend to favour an accreditation model, using predefined criteria but with an emphasis on improvement rather than judgement and no single or 2 word summary ratings

Thereās no doubt that CQC stopped listening some time ago. But it isnāt the regulator that needs rethinking (4th time lucky?), itās the dysfunctional model of regulation thatās the problem. It isnāt an accident that no other country has copied our approach.

Iām honoured and delighted to be taking over from Alan as Chair of the National Centre for Creative Health. The evidence that creative activities are good for your health is growing and convincing. We now need a strategic approach to embedding creative health in practice

āIn recent years, the proportion of NHS funding spent on general practice has declined, the number of full-time qualified GPs has fallen, public satisfaction has plummeted and GPs feel that the quality of care they provide is deterioratingā @HealthFdn

The NHS struggles on only with the support of non-recurrent and ad hoc resources, usually provided late in the day to avert a crisis. The next government needs to be more strategic to allow local NHS leaders to plan properly.

Overseas care workers can no longer bring dependents and that's having an impact on numbers coming over, says @NinaHemmings92. Another reason for the drop is the criteria care providers have to meet to become licensed sponsors have become quite onerous. https://t.co/90AzD8X1lq.

āThe fact that more people are paying out of pocket at a time when the economy is tight..suggests they are turning to the private sector out of desperation... That means that the balance of care is shifting from care based on need, to care based on willingness and ability to payā
š There's still strong public support for the #NHS's funding model. But with the health service experiencing difficulties, @markgdayan @sallygainsbury & @StutiBagri explore how the role of the private sector has changed in UK health care. Read here: https://t.co/6OV7qrbFeo
