@johnsy123aus One of the potentially hardest things for Labor (if they win) will be satisfying everyone, there is so much pent up need and hope after 9 years of LNP. Many will lose faith because they can’t do everything and many will say they’re as bad as each other. But they will be trying.

Assume Sussan’s war on dependency will extend to the $14.9 billion of annual subsidies to major producers & users of fossil fuels? And end the dependency of wealthy property investors on annual tax breaks of $12bn? Or is she just talking people with disabilities?

Sorry. This is divisive BULLSHIT. "BOOMERS" do not object to increased tax on Super over $3 million nor negative gearing changes. Most have NEITHER. Only the RICH of ANY age do that. In fact boomers started Super LATE. https://t.co/PvSdnnzYvD

Sensible limits on generous tax concessions for property investors would help first home buyers & the $$ could help fund more desperately needed social and affordable housing. This has to be part of the conversation. https://t.co/ZMLZfrXMGl

Hands off our health system. Australians see medicine as a right, and health as a collective benefit, not least because there is an intergenerational public cost of poor health and sickness. Made worse if Aussies cannot access preventative medicines or have to go into debt to

A billionaire spends 50m on a wedding and we get endless reports about the guest list and what Ivanka wore. I don’t give a fuck about any of it. If he can spend 50m on a wedding he can pay more in taxes and help the homeless and the poor. I’m so sick of these people.

Great to chat with @abcnews. Global warming is on track for temperatures to climb 2.8C above pre-industrial times but we know the Great Barrier Reef will be all but gone at 2C warming. We don’t have time to waste - emissions must be slashed here and everywhere, and fast.

Instead of investing in defence capabilities and equipment that could be used to defend Australia, the Defence budget is being spent on nuclear subs we don’t need and will never arrive anyway. Meanwhile our leaders are happy, drunk on the rhetoric. #auspol

Keir Starmer’s government, like those before it, is firmly behind the AUKUS pact. But there are some doubts the UK can provide the required submarines on time.
