Kicking off her keynote speech, @LilianGreenwood says: "We want to make sure making that switch to EV is a possibility for all drivers, including for people who rent their homes and don't have a driveway. We want to ensure no one is left behind."

British NIMBYism is truly a sight to behold. “We are rejecting this solar farm, because one time I saw an electric vehicle on fire, which reminded me that decades ago a coal mining disaster killed lots of children”.
A solar farm that could have powered “all the households in Witney” has been refused permission by West Oxfordshire District Council. Councillors cited the risk of fire, one drawing parallels to the Aberfan disaster: “Until someone can guarantee it is safe, I can’t support it.”

Brain cancer is the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, 87% with a high-grade brain tumour diagnosis die within 5 yrs, and yet it gets just 1% of the national spend on cancer.

It’s a matter of interest to me, as to when the exact tipping point occurred for any kind of locational service in the UK for people needing to serve so many people at so high a density as to render the experience thoroughly unpleasant.
