It shouldn’t be harder to make ends meet at the end of your life. But many people are pushed into poverty after a terminal diagnosis.
Life is more expensive for people with a terminal illness. There are the increased energy bills, the expensive (but vital) medical equipment, the costly home adaptations…. It can be almost impossible to make ends meet. If you need support, we’re here for you. Call us on 0800.

Marie Curie's policy team will be submitting a response to NHS England's LGBT+ health evidence review to encourage the Government to meet the healthcare needs of people who are LGBT+ who we know can have unequal experiences of palliative and end of life care. 💛.

Any household that already receives some support qualifies if a household member is likely to die within 12 months. The person needs to send an SR1 form to the Council. The support will then cover the full council tax, to the end of the financial year in which the person dies.
