Heads up Baltimore: Board of Estimates just unanimously approved $920K on new stingray tracking tech. BPD pointed to a “tightly bound unit” w/ a “culture” of "utmost trustworthiness" in response to questions from council pres Nick Mosby about accountability and past misuse. 👀.
Baltimore Police use of “stingray” cell site simulator phone tracking technology has been dwindling - because their device was outdated and not working in 5G areas. That’s about to change with purchase of $920k new device
