We don’t give our mums enough credit. Running a household efficiently is work. Planning & cooking meals, everyone is dressed, fed & packed off timely, clothes are laundered, folded & put away. This is not accounting for the 100s of little things that crop up on a daily basis.
a smoothly run household, especially with small children, does not happen by accident. while there are certainly some people who are more organized than others, these skills are not gendered. what is required is anticipation of other's needs and a desire to meet them.

Absolutely incredible how one company moving to India to derisk supplies from China has kickstarted a virtuous cycle. Has singlehandedly shored up our exports to the US despite sanctions.
Apple is rumored to be in early talks with Murugappa Group’s CG Semi to assemble/package iPhone chips in India—its first serious OSAT evaluation here. CG Semi’s ₹7,600-cr Sanand plant (0.5 mn units/day) could start production in 2026, nudging India up Apple’s value chain.

I was in the Taj Hotel on the night of 26/11 with my husband @Ajay_Bagga . We were fortunate to survive the heinous terrorist attack that night and were rescued alive after 14 hours . The most bone-chilling scene in #Dhurandhar for me was the red screen where the actual voice

goa made me realise how badly we’ve normalised chronic stress. ask anyone to just sit quietly for a bit. no work thoughts. no pending problems. no pressure to become some upgraded version of themselves. no urge to earn more, buy more, optimise more. almost nobody can do it.

Word on the street is that politicians are buying up properties in Malleswaram, which is why even 30x40 plots on conservancy lanes are being quoted at 35k/sqft. The amount of money our politicians have is just obscene!

Most people would first know Kaley Cuoco as Penny in Big Bang Theory but some of us know her as Bridget from 8 Simple Rules. Great show with a stellar cast.
In a 2024 interview, Kaley Cuoco said that John Ritter became an “instant dad” to her on 8 Simple Rules when she was just 16 years old, recalling how he covered her with his jacket on their first day and immediately took on a protective, father figure role on set...

wrt RagiMudde-hands-hygiene issue, it is natural for someone who doesn’t know how it is made/served/eaten it is ok to feel squeamish. X may have educated such uninformed. When it comes to food hygiene, it is to be said Karnataka / Bangalore will rank high. TN eateries will be

Delhi pollution: The sad part is that 15 out of 35 power plant units in Delhi’s vicinity don’t even treat sulphur dioxide!! These are completely fixable issues! Most of these plants are in Haryana! Doesn’t BJP rule Haryana? I understand how Punjab farmers are making matters
There are 11 thermal power plants operating within 300 km of Delhi. But let’s shut down tandoors 🤓 We are not a serious country! Delhi needs a structural fix not bandaid on a fracture

Watched Dhurandhar last night and I've got a lot of thoughts, but the most important one is: The film ensures "transfer of trauma"... or let's call it "generational shatru bodh exchange". Gen Z and the young have either forgotten 26/11, or they were too young then to remember.

Absolutely untrue! Germany has very generous Job search visas that are valid for at least a year and a half after you graduate. Also, most people leaving will have at least permanent residence if not citizenship. Getting a Schengen visa is hard but a student visa really isn’t.
The reason of this Exodus, people get 90-180 days to find a job and if they cannot, you've to leave Germany. They could not find a job and that's why they're moving back. They left India for the same reasons you mentioned so govt was never listening or cared anyways.

India’s poorest households just lived through a decade of historic upgrade. Staggering scale of transformation. • Rural vehicle ownership jumped 6%→47% • Urban poorest owning bikes/cars grew 20%→60% • Fridges, not long ago considered a luxury, now reach 46% rural and 58%

Dhume is right. MMS and RaGa fought terrorism through dossier pe dossier diplomacy, feeding biryani to Kasab and paying public prosecutor for defending him in courts - all the way up to Supreme Court. And see how effective it was. We had *checks notes* less than 100 terrorist
@omarali50 It suggests that only Modi and Yogi care about fighting terrorism and allowing Indian national security professionals to do their jobs. Those parts felt heavyhanded, though, fortunately, they were fleeting enough not to detract too much from the movie overall, which is well

I am in this demographic, albeit a few years younger. And the sentiment is very prevalent among the Indian diaspora that Germany is no more a sustainable, stable country to build a family or retire. And this sentiment is valid.
The big exodus of Indian talent from Germany is starting. Engineers with 10+years experience in non-IT esp. mechanical are moving back. This is the time for Indian DeepTech & R&D companies to capitalise but they’re too busy playing politics & being insecure to realise their loss.

Yesterday: 5 arrested in Germany while planning to attack a Christmas market. Today: attack on a Jewish gathering in Australia 6 weeks ago: the major bust of multiple terror modules in desha. Separated by geography, united by love for Olahu Uber and hatred for everyone else.
