We are heartbroken. Tony was a outstanding colleague, mentor, and friend to many of us. He will be sorely missed.
With sadness we announce that Professor Tony Thirlwall died yesterday. We know that many of our economics community will agree with Head of School Dr Amanda Gosling's rememberance of him as 'a great and influential economist, a valued colleague and a kind and generous man'.
