Our latest article, which is also the latest from the BIODESERT global survey, has just been published in @Nature 👇#Drylands act as a global reservoir of plant phenotypic diversity and challenge the pervasive view that harsh environmental conditions reduce plant trait diversity.
As part of the @biodesert_erc survey we measured 20 chemical & morphological traits on 20,961 individual plants in 326 plots from 6 continents. The analyses of these data, published in @Nature reveal a unexpected high functional diversity of #dryland flora

Our latest article has just been published in @NatureClimate 👇Here we used data from the BIODESERT global field survey to explore how soil mineral-associated organic carbon (MAOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC) respond to changes in climate across drylands worldwide.
In @NatureClimate we report that soil organic C (MAOC and POC) decreased with increases in mean annual temperature and reductions in precipitation across global drylands, with MAOC responding similarly to POC
