Tysties are the latest in a series of very cool ringing experiences I’ve had this spring, by virtue of training on the beautiful coast of North Wales with some awesome ringers. Including Chough, Little Tern, Barn and Tawny Owls and a *lot* of Pied Flycatchers! #lucky

Some significant news to share this morning! A report we are releasing today concludes that it's very unlikely that the Red Kite population in Wales will decline from future onshore wind farm developments. See the link below for the full picture👉 https://t.co/V487QFPVe5

The biggest grant win of my career to date announced yesterday! If you’re interested in improving the way we record raptors in Wales - particularly the common/widespread species that current surveys struggle to capture - we look forward to working with you! @BTO_Cymru

Striking that none of these palettes is remotely contrived, yet the majority are colourblind-friendly. Did the great artists understand that certain colour combinations impeded people's interpretation of their work [in a way that many academics don't, ahem]?

#digTheMountain [NEW ALBUM OUT THIS FRIDAY] has provided us the opportunity to evolve the way our physical records are manufactured and supplied. Polyvinyl chloride doesn’t have to be fresh for the sound quality to be just as good; you can make it from recycled other plastics.

Hard to think of any other individual tree whose felling would make me feel so sad. These photos from our visit in April 2017, just two days after submitting my PhD thesis at @UniofNewcastle

For many of us, our life satisfaction will come from the work we choose rather than how much we get paid for it. Teaching, charity work, making art, building our communities, so many more. Fulfilling lives which may not lead to massive paychecks, but that’s not the point. /2

Hemlock is only poisonous when ingested, something a child is v unlikely to do as it tastes awful. Hemlock is a beaut plant & food source for insects. Imagine if instead of killing nature this was used as an opportunity to *teach* kids about wild plants. https://t.co/b9Ukm623Is
