Never mind the administration’s original justification — now they’re keeping National Guard soldiers on orders to do landscaping and trash duty. That’s a slap in the face to the men and women who signed up to serve their country.
National Guard troops were deployed in D.C. to support federal law enforcement and local police. But in recent days, their duties have expanded to encompass “beautification” tasks such as trash removal and groundskeeping.
