Educators are brainwashed into thinking that every child has trauma. It's not trauma, it's called REAL LIFE. We are quite literally creating a generation of victims.

Elementary schools should focus EXCLUSIVELY on the basics. Teach children how to read, write, and do math. The other "innovative" glitzy things can wait until students have demonstrated proficiency in the basics. Too much time is wasted on coding, gaming, badging, and iPads.

And to all the bosses out there who have employees taking vacation time, whether to Ireland or Ocean City, PLEASE don't bother them. Show some grace and leave them alone to enjoy it. Unless they were scheduled to perform open heart surgery, whatever it is can probably wait.

I see a lot of people Tweeting about traveling to Ireland to see the Steelers. For most folks, that's the trip of a lifetime. I say GO and don't worry one bit about work. Work will be there when you get back.

We were honored to accept a donation in memory of Charles Bakewell, a dedicated educator who served the WJHSD for 38 years. We are grateful for this generous donation and proud to have Mr. Bakewell’s name recognized on the benches at the War Memorial at TJ Stadium.

Educators - do not work for free on your weekends and sacrifice family time. Just don’t.
Plans for this weekend... Laundry, apple picking, football watching, meal prepping, fire pit watching, Costco visit, more football watching, grad school work, and no grading or school work. A weekend 100% for me and my family for a change.

@M_Routh68 If the leader didn’t have the wherewithal to comprehensively convey those things to the consultant, then my immediate reaction is that leadership would have even less of the wherewithal needed to provide effective training.

"Future-Driven Schools" is the new buzzword in school districts across the region. Um...ok. Yet another gimmick. I have an idea--- stick to the basics. Support teachers and staff. Build capacity. Teach every child to read and write and do math at grade level.

Unpopular option but it’s crazy how it's considered normal to drop your kids off at daycare 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, just to drive to a job that pays for daycare, the car, and a home you're barely in. We're literally working to afford a life we hardly get to live.
