Working on the glossary for my book today, was literallly debating with myself whether I needed/wanted to define AI when I saw this. Now I'm just gonna cite the Pope.

Interesting to see the Pope on AI: https://t.co/vgonGUlxdo I'm only half-joking when I say it looks like a *really (really!) thoughtful and well written* LW post from 2015...

#AmericanAirlines Felicia went beyond and exceeded all expectations. I hope the airline recognizes and compensates her. God Bless!

The vaccine companies were—unavoidably—doing a lot of educated guesswork with their dosing regimens. Which is why regulators ought to be relatively willing to adjust to new evidence rather than treating whatever protocols were chosen in clinical trials as the word of God.

We're really at an inflection point here. Pfizer increasing deliveries to 14m/week by mid-March. Moderna aiming to ramp up to 40m/month by April. J&J (one dose) delivering 20m doses in March.

I get annoyed by the "pay people to stay home" message too, because it conflates two issues, one concerning the continuity of businesses and one concerning people's personal behavior. Better would be something like: "Pay businesses to stay closed. Encourage people to stay home."

Does @NateSilver538 really think the national margin will end up at over 7%, which is where polls had it? That would be a big leap. Are there that many uncounted CA absentees?

@DouthatNYT The errors in 2016 and 2020 have been about average, though. (At least that's where I'm thinking 2020 will end up once all votes are counted.) It's all pretty normal.

The vice president is seated next to a whole bunch of people who have tested positive and although he's tested negative, he's a long ways from being out of the incubation period. Not sure that they should be doing the VP debate in person next week.

Something to think about: re-openings have been occurring gradually since late April in different states/counties. If you had a metric averaging out how open different states are, it would likely show a fairly linear pattern. So why is there a nonlinear increase in cases now?

Just come into the #Questionmark office in the City of London for the first time for over 3 months, as want reliable Internet access for my presentation to the #CEdMAeurope conference this morning. Slightly surreal as the entire building (we are in a large wework) seems empty.

@Questionmark @MStraehle @LibertyMunson If you don't know what your psychometrician is REALLY saying, tune in and listen to Manny and Liberty. They are good communicators. Then replace your psychometrician with one who knows how to speak your language.
