Dan figures were used to justify the changes by the government in the first place, I’m glad He has looked further in to it, and his suggested a better solution, worth reading the article in the second tweet.

New data on farms and inheritance tax: a third of farm estates over £1.5m aren’t farmers but wealthy people avoiding IHT by sinking money into farmland. The Budget hits farmers too hard and tax avoiders too lightly. It needs to change.

2/2 When you put it in context of our yearly NHS spend (269.5bn in 202) if the government invested in quality food production and education, the benefits to the NHS would be easily recouped in less spending, a large portion of NHS spend is reversible metabolic caused dieseases.

This is staggering, as farmers we are being made to grovel for the meagre agricultural budget, yet We are facing more calls to provide public goods in the race to net-zero and bio-diversity enhancement, whilst producing food to high standards and getting little return for it 1/2.

The Government put 16.9 billion pounds into the railway system during the pandemic. Now the unions call a strike. Those farmers are troublesome aren't they?.7bn per year to railways in normal year. 3bn per year to agriculture. What is the true cost of living??.

The nature that is here has all developed alongside farming, there are ways we can improve, but grazing cattle are key to building up our soils to store carbon, and also to preserve our fantastic wader and song birds that live on our farm.
