Food prices are predicted to rise 4-6% in the coming year. This is driven by large increases in meat prices. A household of 4 will pay $1000 more this year than last, spending over $17,000 on food.

Agriculture in Canada contributes for than 5 time the value to GDP than the auto sector. Protecting the auto sector at the expense of agriculture is extremely poor economic policy decision making. Excellent observation by Jason Kenny. #GrowCanada25

Geat news out of the EU this morning, as the EU is proposing to treat gene-edited crops as conventional crops that don't need to be regulated. Huge win for science-based regulations and HUGE lose for the EU environmental mvement.
europarl.europa.eu
The new rules will make the EU food system more secure and sustainable, with climate- and pest-resistant plants that give higher yields and require fewer fertilisers and pesticides.
