This sounds a lot like "rules for thee, not for me" in terms of where the exceptions are in this hiring freeze. We can think of much more significant vacancies that the Governor's Press Team.

It's not a coincidence that these ads are going up when energy prices are spiking because of the choices of Moore on energy, and the massive tax increase he signed into law. The ad can talk all it wants about middle-class tax cuts, but everybody will pay more under Wes Moore.

Ironically, the same state government that’s crying about unfunded mandates from Washington is the first to force them onto our counties—just look at the Kirwan education plan. If we want to solve our budget issues, start by cutting those unfunded state mandates.

Today’s hearing made one thing painfully clear—our budget is dangerously tethered to federal funding streams that were never meant to underwrite state-level policy experiments.
