Truth! Strikeout or homerun, win or lose - enjoy watching your child play ball! There will come a day when you wish you could watch your player dig in and take one more at bat.
If you can embrace each game your child plays in sports as one day closer to their last, you’ll find greater joy in watching them play. The sad reality is these moments will end sooner than we think. Perspective can change the whole experience for your child and you!.

For our catching people out there . Simple drills, learn to receive the pitch, basic blocking. Youth catchers can do these same drills, and it does not need to take a lot of time.
Here’s 90 seconds of d’Arnaud’s pregame routine…. This is perfect example of doing what works for YOU & doing what gives you the feels YOU want to perform at YOUR best. Short hops, slow motion rolls & movements, two knee set ups… unique drills that work for HIM. #catcherslife

Need a drill or want to freshen up your catch play? Good stuff from Coach Trosky!.
Controlling the running game as an infielder requires you to identify the speed of the runner before the play. Then adjust your footwork pattern for each type of runner, keeping the same tempo and arm action regardless of the runner. Get more like this 🔗

So much attention to detail when it comes to catchers receiving pitches!.

In youth baseball, all of our pitchers play at least one other position. Coach Meade emphasizes the importance of managing how much these players throw in practice. Coaches Insider has the full interview:.

All youth sports have some common themes and lessons. Great message from former pro hockey player PJ Atherton about getting cut as a youth player. As many of our MBL associations conduct tryouts in the coming weeks, keep this in mind. Baseball has MANY of these same stories!.
“I became relentless in pursuing getting better”. PJ Atherton was cut at 13 years old from his town’s top team in Minnesota… and then a few years later lived his childhood dream playing at the University of Minnesota where he won a national championship. It’s yet another story

Clayton Kershaw on long toss! Coaches, as our athletes get back into throwing, make sure you plan your throwing program. Ease back into a routine and slowly ramp up. Talk to your players about their arms and listen to their feedback!.
Clayton Kershaw is a firm believer that long toss is the secret tool needed to maximize your arm strength💪

RT @TJHannam10: Keep your swing on the highway 🔥. Langford has been focusing on a more vertical setup to help this. Helps with: .• Swinging….

Relating to youth baseball:.* Pro umps call pitches outside the actual zone; youth umps obviously will as well. * The comment about Arraez . mainly, these pitches are hittable, and in youth baseball we see pitches that are much farther out of the zone, but STILL hittable.
Juan Soto sees SIX pitches here, they’re all out of the strike zone, he doesn’t swing the bat once, and he strikes out anyway. Are they bad calls? Yes, obviously yes. But should he have swung the bat? Luis Arraez probably gets 4 hits during this one PA.
