And this does not cover the even more worrying drop in funding for adults (those 19yrs and over) outside of Higher Education - there were 5.5million learners per year in 2003, now there are 1.5million, & funding per learner is way down too
Closing the gap between skill supply and employer demand could increase national productivity by 5%. But further education has experienced the biggest drop in funding of any education sector.

I thoroughly enjoyed writing thus piece. A subject I have deliberated since joining the sector as a Lecturer back in 2004. These skills, often embedded or wraparound, really ought to be core in my opinion.
