Thank you. There were so many students from the Jschool who contributed to our success and helped to launch the site so thank you Jschool!
SF's innovation to support local news — with leadership from our Emeritus Prof @LydiaChavezZ at @MLNow — is highlighted in the New York Times!

When someone is arrested, hospitalized, or dies, what happens to their pet? via @io_y_g

Animal Care and Control cares for pets in “extraordinary circumstances," acting like a social welfare agency for animals instead of children.

Yet another superb piece by Lauren Smiley. @MLNow
To drive your Uber or bring your Instacart delivery, Priscila Barbosa had to be, well, you. (so did 100's of her customers.) A wild tale from the queen of a shadow gig economy, an identity thief within the US immigration stalemate, my latest @wired

When discussing the Great Highway in San Francisco, it’s important to understand these points: 1. What’s already been decided? 2. What’s proposed for the future? 3. What’s staying the same? Watch this short video or read a longer explanation here: https://t.co/7e5QsJKKdY

Still remember you walking into Mission Local and thinking that you must be 16 and then having such fun watching you do a bang up job. Congrats and enjoy! So nice to run into you in BART as you headed to the ceremony.
Some ✨ personal news ✨: I've officially graduated from Stanford with a B.A. in Philosophy with honors (and effectively a double major in student journalism). I'm headed back to NYC to continue my fellowship @nytimes. Excited for what's to come!

I think this is the 3rd or 4th slam on van Zweden’s exit from NY and it is irritating, saying the same thing the NYT has been saying for months. Jeez. Give the guy a break and find something else in the musical world to write about.
nytimes.com
The pandemic-derailed tenure of Jaap van Zweden, the orchestra’s music director, was too short to give us a full sense of him, as man or maestro.

During #theBlitz crowds of people sought refuge in London’s Underground stations to escape the nightly bombardments by the German Air Force. The sculptor #HenryMoore (1898 – 1986) documented these scenes in hundreds of haunting sketches known as the #ShelterDrawings. #DontMiss
Now open at The Courtauld Gallery - Henry Moore: Shadows on the Wall 🎨 Explore Moore's celebrated Shelter drawings, and how the walls of these spaces came to absorb his attention in an altogether new way. In collaboration with @henrymoorestudios 🎟️ https://t.co/CrZaK7iah1

Felicitaciones!
I'm very excited about this new project. @PatriciaPuentes and I have just launched a podcast where we talk about the places you can see in the movies and tell you what you can visit, what you cannot, what was recreated for the movie, and what is 100% fake. In Spanish!

Yes, such a good piece. Incredible how consistently we are on camera and yet the limits of such detail. Another very smart piece by Smiley. @MLNow @EskSF

I’m so delighted, and hugely honored, that @LievSchreiber agreed to narrate the audio version of “Collision of Power.”

Fashion/art pop up in nyc…this is the third one I’ve seen. Maybe an idea to bring a nice and big crowd into downtown SF.

Michael Farris’s views on public schools (he called them a “godless monstrosity”) were once seen as so radical that they helped tank his 1993 run for lieut gov of Virginia. Now, his ideas are at the center of GOP politics.
washingtonpost.com
On a private call with Christian millionaires, home-schooling pioneer Michael Farris pushed for a strategy aimed at siphoning billions of tax dollars from public schools
