It’s manipulative how people label your anger as the real you, like your joy and kindness were an act. Emotions are all part of you. Being upset doesn’t expose a “true color,” it shows you’re human.

the 25th anniversary of 9/11 coinciding with the 250th year of the country’s independence as we return to war in the middle east at the behest of a self-appointed king feels like a weekly world news nostradamus prediction and yet,

Remember how Democrats insisted on how critical it was to elect Biden in 2020 so he could replace DeJoy & save the USPS from privatization. Then spent 4 yrs doing absolutely nothing about it?
The Postmaster General says USPS might be forced to stop deliveries in 2027 if current trends continue. Postmaster David Steiner says the postal service "will be out of cash in less than 12 months." Steiner has has also been on the board of directors of FedEx since 2009.

Or maybe if we had kept them in the first place they would’ve been gradually upgraded over the decades and every city would have something akin to what towns in The Netherlands and Germany have now.
Everyone who advocates for circa 1920s streetcars on this goddamned website should be forced to spend an entire day riding the St. Charles Streetcar in New Orleans so they can understand that leaving those relics in the past with horse drawn carriages was the CORRECT decision!

XPO and FedEx executives have been running USPS into the ground since 2016 (all thanks to Trump) so the companies could remove a public service competitor from the field. It’s a crime, and the people should demand retribution from the people and companies behind this conspiracy.

You dont hate *drivers enough I asked a coworker who "supports public transit" if a bus lane that saves 10min for 13,000 riders but makes commutes 30sec longer for 8,000 drivers was a worthwhile trade and he said "no its unfair to drivers to delay them for bus riders"

It is kind of strange that Americans generally do understand the value of good public transit, but only in an airport context.
People say American cities can’t build infrastructure but Atlanta has a fully automated subway with platform screen doors and 90 second headways that serves a quarter million trips a day. It’s just in their airport.

I love characters who aren't necessarily highest in strength but have immense endurance and willpower, nothing beats seeing someone get absolutely wrecked but still keep fighting at 100% especially if they keep going after way stronger opponents

this is charming and makes me wonder if there will be a time in my life iraq is a normal tourism destination the way vietnam became one to the surprise of boomers
The Capital of Iraq, Baghdad, has restarted its old tramway system to revive tourism. The country was ravage by war a decade ago 🇮🇶🚋

The best analogy I’ve found to explain my distaste for genAI to normies is sports. You watch athletes compete because they inspire you with their physical prowess. You feel disappointed when you find out someone took steroids because it detracts from their athletic journey

This is like the final boss of the people who call themselves centrists or moderates and then proceed to say the most evil shit you've ever heard
- "Are you left-wing or right-wing?" - "Center" - "Can we live with the Arabs of Israel?" - "No, a good Arab is a dead Arab" An average Israeli woman answers an average Israeli street poll. Posted on Instagram on February 13.

The US - and I cannot stress this enough - is the bad guy in virtually every situation. No empire in world history has ever held this much power.

If a city’s transportation policy requires every adult to own a $40,000 depreciating asset to get to work and participate in civic life, that is not freedom, that is a subsidy with extra steps. The next mayor needs to understand this in their bones. Not theoretically. Viscerally

I’m sorry but the tech bros and the tech right are just very stupid people who like the aesthetics of being perceived as readers of old books and ancient history/philosophy to compensate for not actually having any culture or real personalities. A Roomba has more personality than
“Steve Jobs’ years of introspection resulted in him making a decision I disagree with, therefore he did not have any sort of introspection” he’s really on one now, lmao

Charlie Kirk was Rush Limbaugh for zoomers, but the right expected us to pretend he was MLK. His death is treated as a bad joke precisely BECAUSE the right presumed his death would unlock "enormous political capital"
Six months after Charlie Kirk's murder and the whole thing is treated as a bad joke because nothing serious was done about it. Enormous political capital was unlocked that week and squandered in the following weeks. The reality of this is beginning to set in for some of you.
