New: Save Austin Now launching petition that could force ATX to perform “external and performance-based affordability and efficiency initiative.” W/ enough signatures, would go to council to either adopt or put on the May ballot for voters to decide. https://t.co/2JXVX7PnEL

"The current budget proposal is unacceptable. Stop cutting EMS, fire, and other basic services. I do not consent to the use of my tax dollars for irresponsible NGO pet projects that have worsened homelessness, drug use, and led to greenbelt destruction. I demand an audit NOW!"

Austin voters rejected Prop Q 67–34. So why is City Hall using the Prop Q budget as the baseline? There’s no $110M “cut” - the revenue never existed. Start from FY24–25 + base cost drivers. Protect core services. Stop fear tactics. Let’s budget in public.

Why I'm against Prop Q: Austin’s priorities are drifting, and it’s harder than ever to cut through the noise and find the truth. What I’ve uncovered over the last few months is a city government that’s lost sight of its people. On the face of it, I see a manufactured crisis to

While our council asks for more $$ from a stretched taxpayer, they jet off to Japan, with staff, to celebrate … sister cities. Here’s another reason to vote NO on Prop Q. @austintexasgov @VanessaForATX @ToddJeffries @AustinJustice @JenRobichaux

Our City Council says there's nothing they can do to prevent a tax rate increase. They're asking for our help. You could cut something from your personal budget... Or vote against Prop Q and insist that the city of Austin lives within our means. Vote No on Prop Q, Austin!

City of Austin has $29,805,936 in ACTIVE contracts to these organizations, which in turn have contributed $42K to the Love Austin PAC. Mind you, the budget shortfall that's prompted the Tax Rate Election is $33M, and the city is asking for $110M from us. Contract details 🧵

Several non-profits have contributed a total of $42K to the Love Austin PAC. According to federal regulations, 501c(3) organizations are not allowed to make political contributions to candidates. Can anyone clarify for me if contributing to a ballot issue is also prohibited?
