Proof that I will literally do almost anything to keep the residents of HD 47 safer, including sawing through brush at this morning’s wildfire mitigation cleanup at Great Hills Park. Wildfires are one of the biggest threats facing Texas, and we need bold, district-wide and

Earlier this evening, my colleagues and I passed this year's budget and took a step toward restoring trust with you and your neighbors. Now it's time to examine @austintexasgov's expenses line by line, look for savings, and set #austin up for success over the next decade.

On top of ongoing efficiency processes, Austin's now seeking an audit consultant. Mayor Watson said external review is needed "so it’s not just the city looking at the city" for new strategies, performance measures. Also, several new public data dashboards are in the works:

Thanks for being there, @MrScottHendrix! My team and I will continue to work through @austintexasgov's budget process and will keep you and the rest of #D10 informed every step of the way.📈
It was good to hear my Austin city council rep lay out some hard truths about the lack of transparency and reliable data for making decisions at City Hall. It was also good that he listened to his constituents. Thanks @Marc4AustinD10.

👮♂️ Congrats to Officer Latouf! I'm grateful for his dedication to our community and for the services he and his fellow @austin_police officers provide us on a daily basis. Thank you!
We’re proud to announce Officer Latouf with the Baker 400s (Central West Austin) as our Employee of the Week. Officer Latouf went above and beyond to locate and apprehend a violent suspect. Thank you for making Austin safer for our community! --------- Nos enorgullece anunciar

This morning, I joined Travis County Judge Andy Brown to give an update on our wildfire preparedness efforts, including resources available to our community. A few weeks ago, the City of Austin declared a local disaster due to the increased wildfire risk across Central Texas.

If there's one Prop Q takeaway that I hope isn't overlooked, it's the amount of public engagement that took place. People from all walks of life paid attention, researched the issue, and made their voices heard. Please keep it up!👍 https://t.co/xEopmWpwh8

Voters were motivated by affordability, as property-tax fatigue cut across partisan and geographic lines.

When I voted against City Hall's budget in August, I proposed we conduct an efficiency study like Houston's, which uncovered $120M in savings. As the @statesman reports, support for that audit is growing. I look forward to working on it with colleagues!

Prop Q wasn't just a vote on taxes and affordability—it was a referendum on trust. My colleagues and I now have an opportunity to change course and restore our constituents’ faith in local government, and I hope we seize it.
