Marine Esplanade this week. Edinburgh Council Scientific Services are on this road. So why is it such a mess?

This is Marine Esplanade, this week. With news of uncontrolled fly tipping in the news, can @Edinburgh_CC get on top of this now, before it all ends in the sea? (200 yards from NWH waste management group, by the way.) #flytipping

Venues are not recycling. The only venue that provided reusable plastic cups was @traversetheatre - and I saw several folk put theirs in the bin!

I love the fringe. But we need a serious conversation the monumental amount of waste - and what about the plastic cable ties for every single poster? @edfringe

@edfringe despite Fringe promises that they’d replace these bins with ones with a hatch as in previous years they haven’t done it. Virtually zero recycling as many of the visitors don’t have English as first language no international recycling ♻️ symbols.

Compare what Paris has done to its city Hall Square to plans for George Street, Edinburgh. Four trees. Why do our council leaders and officers suffer from such a lack of imagination?
Paris has removed the paving from its city hall square and transformed it into an urban forest. https://t.co/UcgVxm83X3

Simple zebra crossings are an easy and low-cost means of giving pedestrians priority. @Sustrans latest report backs their wider use 👇 https://t.co/y0WBH9MF4N We now need UK Gov to give councils the power to make them commonplace.

Disabled people risk being left behind if future transport changes don’t involve them or meet their needs.
Disabled people are more likely to be injured by cars when we're walking or wheeling. Our new research with @Sustrans shows that adding zebra crossings to side streets makes drivers more like to stop for us. Read more:

Note for Edinburgh Council. More LTNs and quiet streets mean we don't always need to build (very expensive) cycle lanes on every road...
Everyone should watch this! It's a delightful & joyous celebration of how we're transforming London into a cycling city. Brilliant to see ... but there's much more hard work to do. #LondonLovesCycling 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 https://t.co/5OZzq6HGq8

Stop demolishing buildings in a climate emergency just to build student blocks that bring a high return to developers and investors rather than students or residents.
Locals encouraged to share thoughts on another new student accommodation proposal as council votes to explore ban on allowing more https://t.co/yWLK6f3Jnw via @deadlinenews

Engine idling is an offence of the Road Traffic Act because it produces avoidable toxins that contribute to lung disease, dementia, and cancer. Selfish drivers ignore the rules of the road and force the health impacts of their lifestyles onto others. £1000 fines would solve it.
@jonburkeUK I always leave the van running when I’m sitting in it, why wouldn’t I? Got the radio and air conditioning
