Boris Johnson put his own brother & the son of a sanctioned KGB spy in the House of Lords. On his *first day in the job* PM Sir Keir Starmer has promoted a former chief scientific advisor & a businessman whose work rehabilitating former prisoners has improved countless lives

He doesn’t deserve a good pub! He has not saved the British pub, he froze a tax that benefits international brewers selling beers to supermarkets. @CampaignforPubs @pub_that @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @oldmudgie @SiobhanEdwards1 @HandCNews @morningad

We need to stop Upwards only rent reviews and RPI indexation to allow pubs to find their rental level. Landlords cannot continue to have a heads I win tails you lose agreement.#Pubs #UKpubs “The billionaires have won’: English pubs forced to close”

Absolutely - we’ve seen pubs charged 125pkh against an average circa 40p
disgraceful profiteering. We’ve recommended a report to OFFGEM and encourage all in similar positions to do the same. This has to stop

If @Ofgem don't urgently grow some teeth, do their job and pull the energy Co's in line; they will have overseen more Hospitality closures than Covid. The Energy Co's are now Hospitalitys biggest enemy.

Sad to see The Air Balloon, Landmark pub to close forever on New Year's Eve. Demolished for the sake of a road

Government delaying the decision on business energy support is disappointing (understatement of the day)
. But sadly not unexpected, it’s par for the course for this government. Please Stop leaving business with crippling uncertainty, stop procrastinating

We are seeing landlords looking to increase rents. Open market FMT rents are actually falling Don’t be fooled by Benchmarking figures provided by landlords. Often they’re flawed Talk to us! The only trade association on your side not influenced by landlord money #UKpubs

Disappointing Autumn statement. Landlords with index linked rent increases please note the government has capped their increases to 7% - RPI increases are not sustainable. Get rid of UORR. Rates relief welcome but nothing on other industry asks (VAT always unlikely)

It’s so important that we save historic venues like ⁊@SimpsonsTavern⁩ . Short term landlord greed cannot win over long term cultural and historic importance

It’s for reasons like this that we urge all publicans to get advice. This is free to our members and we will help you negotiate with your landlord at rent review and renewal

It’s important prospective tenants get independent advice. We take no landlord money and unlike most are genuinely independent. Happy to advise and do so with your best interest, not that of a landlord. https://t.co/zlull5Se1t
