No matter what side you're on, you have to consider the following: - USC is in the Big 10 now, not in the Pac-12. USC needed to play ND to be nationally relevant, not now. - Getting into the playoff is the goal now. USC needed to beat ND to get into title convo before, not now.

I get the rivalry but I also lost all respect after they skipped bowl because they didn’t get their way on top of the new rule that if they’re in top 12 the get auto in. Doesn’t sit right. I’m good despite loving the rivalry and history, I agree with the move ✌️

TL;DR on USC-ND Either school could have prevented this, but it sounds like one side made an effort and one didn't. USC gains nothing tangible by playing ND*. They compromised by offering up Week 0 to keep it alive. Where was ND's compromise to keep it going? There wasn't one.

Colin... USC vs ND is an institution. Only been stopped by a world war, world pandemic, and now by USC who wants an easier schedule. Dates for 2026-27 were already set. ND does things that make them EASY to be frustrated with, USC didn't want the smoke and scared to lose.
When you’re a full and committed member of an elite conference like USC/BIG, you no longer need semi committed rivals from weaker conferences. Trojans were increasingly making the bigger sacrifice.
