Our paper ends with big questions for the field such as: - How do audiences define credibility and trust online? - What kinds of digital content actually motivate action during hazards? - How can universities train meteorologists for a world where anyone can “forecast”? ❄️📲

We also feature what one university is doing to adapt to the digital era. Led by @JakeCarstens, @und_wx has evolved from daily studio weathercasts to include social media blogs, explainers, and live data visualization, giving students experience as digital communicators. 🌪️📲

Our paper also takes a deep dive into the AMS Certified Digital Meteorologist (CDM) program and shares insights from practicing CDMs who are shaping this field every day, including the wonderful @mattlanza, @MadisonTorresTV, @KyleeMiller_WX, and Sean Sublette. ⛅️📱

One of the most fascinating analyses from our paper includes tracking how people search for weather on YouTube since 2008. Searches for routine forecasts have grown steadily, but live weather content has exploded, especially during major events, showing the digital era in data📊
