Conservative councillors are opposed to downgrading Monmouth Library and move it to smaller premises. A 14 day paper-only consultation is poor practice. The Labour cabinet discussed the plan in July but the then ward councillor @CatherineFookes says sheβs just found out about it

Carers in southern Monmouthshire do incredible work helping older people live independently. The council is re-tendering the contract and @CllrLisaDymock and I are worried that local carers could lose out to a target-driven, lower quality national provider

Two Monmouthshire councillors have raised concerns about the potential re-tendering of a care contract.

@LaneRevd Absolutely agree Malcolm. Nick & Amy have worked so hard and we should be celebrating and supporting these hubs of community in any way we can. Like many sectors, the recent budget brings such headwinds, so itβs disappointing to see these hurdles.

Have supported the Applicants Nick and Amy Clayton-Ford who told the hearing they needed to hold additional events The extended area is at the back of the premises and very much out of the way I have been pleased to sign their well supported petition to grant this application

As we have gathered in your presence this day, we give thanks for the gift of baptism, through which we are made members of the body of Christ. On this holy day, when we remember the baptism of your Son, our Saviour, we pray for your guidance and strength.

Today we were delighted to welcome the Manqueue Apostolic Movement Oblates from Chile to Belmont. The Movement is a Lay Community which follows the Rule of St Benedict and has strong links with the English Benedictine Congregation. Pictured are the oblates with Abbot Brendan.
