We need an efficient, supportive and more compassionate asylum system, and we need expanded safe routes. We’re working out how the government’s proposals will affect the people we support, but we know they may be feeling scared today. Our teams will be here for them. ❤️

1.5 million people in Gaza urgently need shelter. After two years of suffering, winter brings cold and flooding, deepening an unimaginable crisis. We call for sustained, unimpeded humanitarian aid to help families survive the harsh months ahead.

Hurricane Melissa has devasted the Caribbean. Floods and landslides have damaged entire communities. @IFRC has delivered over 160 tonnes of aid to Jamaica. But the hurricane’s impact is long-lasting, and there will be a long journey to recovery.

A fair asylum system is one that is built on compassion, humanity, and dignity. One that works for everyone. One that sees people as human beings and puts their safety first. We will always stand for this. ❤️

Storm Claudia brought heavy rain to parts of the UK over the weekend. One of those towns was Monmouth, in the south of Wales. When severe floods forced people to evacuate and take shelter at a local leisure centre, our teams of volunteers were there to support.

📍Sudan | For the first time in months, Somia heard her son’s voice. They got separated fleeing the attacks on Zamzam camp. She reached Tawila while he ended up in Tine, Chad. Their conversation since separation was a lifeline, one that countless families still hope for.👇🏽

Homes destroyed. Businesses in ruins. Schools turned to rubble. The @PalestineRCS is working tirelessly, distributing food parcels, blankets and mattresses, but the crisis remains catastrophic. It's vital that we see a lasting commitment to stability and recovery.

The @ICRC_Sudan and @SRCS_SD teams are in Tawila, assisting those fleeing #Fasher. Providing emergency assistance, restoring lost contact with loved ones & reinforcing the surgical capacity of the @MSF_france run hospital are the immediate focus. The needs outstrip the response

Sudan is one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Tragically, 21 volunteers from the @SRCS_SD have lost their lives in the line of duty. But despite the risks, local teams are on the ground doing all they can to help people suffering.
