A cool thing about Epiphany is I got to say all 3 creeds today. Athanasian at morning prayer, Nicene at Holy Communion, and Apostles at evening prayer. A wonderful day of professing the Catholic faith.

Commemorated Monday in Easter Week in a freezing cold unnheated chapel with a 1662 BCP North-end celebration of Holy Communion, with the reading of the Homily "Of the Resurrection for Easter day" from the 2nd Book of Homilies.
P.s. most of the congregations was in their 20-30s.

I've not read Eamon Duffy, but a good priest I know once described what he took away from these books by saying " the people of England just prior to the reformation certainly were very religious with a rich tradition, however, this religion had little to do with Jesus"
Reading these two books on the Protestant Reformation & its hard not to be sad 😢
The Protestants were awful….simply awful - upending 1500 yrs of church tradition, they were the 16th century version of modern vandals & rioters, hell bent on forcing progressivism on society

Went to a BCP Eucharist recently where the priest wore a stole over his plain clothes, there was only one reading, which was from the OT, it was St. Anne's feast day and the sermon was about how her story was probably made up to make people feel good in the middle ages.
