In case anyone is following @pablorodriguez Bill C-18, it is by far the most radical, most invasive, most innovation-suppressive, parochial internet-based regulation any country in the world has even contemplated let alone introduced. Lots more to come. It’s really bad.

If you care at all about free speech, this move should chill you to the bone. It's insane there isn't more organized opposition to Bill C-10.

What's next for me is a bit foggy, to be honest. I'll take some time to think things over while walking on an icy beach with my wife. There are worse venues for pondering life's next moves.

This week The Canadian Press and I parted ways. It's been almost eight years to the day since I started there and it's been a fascinating ride. I played many roles, met many wonderful people, traveled farther than I ever dreamed.

Looks like #automatedjournalism is gaining traction in Canada. So far, @CdnPressNews has been using it to automate election results. Maybe they'll expand to other domains soon?
