Queensland’s heartless border debacle. Daniel Andrews caught out over curfew call. Australia Post in strife for Pauline Hanson stubby holders. Berejiklian and Barilaro at war about killing koalas. ACT relocated to central NSW. Honestly, 2020. You wouldn’t miss it for quids.

What drove John Kerr to sack Gough Whitlam in 1975? Was it political treachery in cahoots with a conniving queen, or an act of deliverance? Excellent half-hour documentary on the Palace Letters and Whitlam Dismissal by @annelisenews at @SkyNewsAust. https://t.co/3lwkM63g8Q

News Corp is stopping the print editions of more than 100 suburban and regional mastheads. Australian Community Media has suspended publication of almost 100 papers. BuzzFeed Australia and 10 Daily have shut down. Australian Associated Press is due to close on June 26. Grim.

When considering #journalismmatters think of this: one-third of local councils are already not reported on; social cohesion and business growth depends on strong local media; police rely on court reporting as a deterrent to crime.

Peter Tonagh is leading the consortium of investors and philanthropists looking to #saveAAP. He believes News Corp and Nine could return as AAP customers, but admits it could take 10 years. https://t.co/XwyGOkZB5f via @AAPNewswire

What could AAP look like if the wire is sold? * Staff cut by 50% * 24/7 service reduced to 18 hours, six days a week * Fewer articles and photos published * Finance, racing and entertainment scrapped * Focus on courts, sport, state and federal politics https://t.co/PqiP8hdWKE
