14 days away on holiday gave me withdrawal symptoms from birding, so called in RSPB Farnham Heath for 45 minutes on the long home journey North. Spotted a few stunning Dartford Warblers 😀@Natures_Voice #rspbfarnhamheath #farnhamheath #rspb #birds #birdwatching @surrey_hills_arts

Visited Farndale for the W T Eagles with @janeburkey. After a short wait was entertained for an hour by 1 adult & 1 immature. Mostly distant & high in the sky so lots of silhouettes.Usual poor light excuse😔.Many thanks to @paulnewton61 & @DavidEd32165299 for intel. @nybirdnews

I might have dipped the Ortolan Bunting recently at Wykeham Raptor Pt (who didn’t 🤷🏼♂️) but more than pleased on the day that I managed to find the very well hidden Nightjar🥳. My very first day time Nightjar and better still, no midge 🦟bites from my usual dusk views @nybirdnews

I was very fortunate on a recent outing to North Yorkshire to encounter up to 5 Turtle Doves flying around my head. Never seen more than 2 together before. Never a truer phrase than “Right place right time”. @nybirdnews

A recent holiday to Cornwall provided the opportunity for a detour via RSPB Labrador Bay, for the opportunity to reacquaint myself with the simply stunning Cirl Bunting @Natures_Voice. It is always nice to have the reserve to yourself 💪🏻

A picture taken from my recent Outer Hebrides holiday from the ferry. Black Guillemot showing that it IS possible to run across water when you know how 🧐. Nice flat fish for lunch as well. @VisitScotland @AMAZlNGNATURE

A visit to @RSPB_OldMoor was followed by a visit to Adwick Washlands. 20 years ago you would have been lucky to see an Avocet, today there were 30 to 40 on the reserve ! What a stunning bird. Also year ✔️’s, Swift, Little Ringed Plover, Yellow Wagtail, Sedge Warbler @sybirdnews

A short walk along the river Wharfe with @LUFCDave_ produced my first Pied Flycatchers of the year. There were several within a 50 yard stretch of woods. Male and female pics. Plus two bonus Wood Warbler among a cornucopia of other birds. @nybirdnews

No apology for the awful photo taken through a reed bed. But when you can get a Slavonian Grebe (on the left) and a Black-necked Grebe (to the right) in the same photo then no complaints whatsoever @SwillyIngsBG @nybirdnews

Here’s looking at you 👀. Only my 2nd ever Firecrest, so considering the challenging environment I was delighted to capture some record shots 😁. Could have been Methley but personally think it was within the @SwillyIngsBG boundary 🤷🏼♂️

5 Scottish holidays, many, many hours of research, tramping miles of forests, all forgotten with just 2 minutes of Life ✅ Crested Tit. Amazing support & patience from my long suffering wife @janeburkey . The most difficult bird I have ever searched for. Boom💥Back of the net🥅

Won’t win any photo comp’s but considering how late in the day it was, in the shadows of the trees this was the best that I could do. The only Hawfinch that I saw land & do the right thing by staying still long enough to grab a photo 😁.@fountainsabbey @nybirdnews @naturesvoice
