He just did it to the International Teachers saying he now understands that DCPS central may be not good because of the issue he’s been trying to work on. We have BEEN saying this. It is NOT new. It is ENDEMIC TO mayoral control of our schools. Time to end it. NOW.

What I just witnessed from the W3 Member of the DCSBOE is BEYOND disrespectful. Not only did he openly say that he did not listen to an ENTIRE PANEL on students facing homelessness, he then proceeded to ask questions about HIS ISSUE instead of addressing HOMELESS STUDENTS.

The Council, OSSE, and the Charter School Board need to set clearer regulation, training standards, and complete more thorough investigations with more intense reporting requirements. The language that exists to regulate this area is incredibly vague and often not followed. (2/)

Last night, I testified about the violent impact of restraint and seclusion being used again disabled students in front of the State Board of Education. Restraint and seclusion as tactics are often mentally and physically violent and go un(der)reported across the District. (1/)
