Not nightmarish but very much related, my grandmother had a deep Louisiana accent coupled with a high pitch Miche’le voice. It never registered to me that her and her sisters had accents I thought it was bc they was old (all they kids was born in California.) Imagine my shock
I liked shrek as a kid but I wish they told us that his accent wasn't an ogre thing. imagine my surprise when I learned Scottish people are real. the stuff of nightmares

I won’t be at the Golden Globes this year, Liz. I’m working on my one-woman rendition of ‘Dracula’ where I’ll be playing 23 roles.

What annoys me a lot about “buying clothes” is that every option is slop. It doesn’t matter if you spend 50 or 800 on a ‘winter coat’, it might just be cold af. With omnipresent sloppification you need to become an expert yourself before buying anything. Huge cognitive costs.

Saw a sci-fi short where the flag of a unified humanity was a Paleolithic hand stencil and it really stuck with me, like it's not neat or heraldic, but it's the oldest mark of ourselves

It’s amazing to me that we went from not knowing Pluto even existed to taking pictures of its mountains in less than a hundred years
