Worth noting Parliaments website doesn't list Co-Op as a separate party. So. .

Forms a pact whereby all Co-Operative MPs call themselves Labour and Co-Op MPs. Asks why they only get called Labour . I'd also question fourth largest party on these stakes.

🚨 NEW: The Co-operative Party is Britain’s fourth-largest party in Parliament. But in BBC output, our representatives are often labelled simply as “Labour”. We asked how often this happens, but the BBC refused to say. Today, we’re asking for answers.

I regret to inform Golden Age Detective Twitter that I did not in fact like Michael Innes.

For those of you keeping score - probably just me - this marks the 12 succesful appointment (with one withdrawl) out of 14 meetings of the Crown Nominations Commission or a succes rate of 86%. I think we can can any claims that it is struggling to appoint Bishops can't we?.

@DrDavidPrice David can I please get confirmation that you don't agree with Professor Milbanks assertion that worship bands are unChristian?.

Not great to denigrate choirs and choral music I agree. But are we going to skip the part where Prof Milbank called worship bands unchristian? Sounds pretty denigrating to me.

@johnmilbank3 @2D0XPS @CofERedeemer Thank you for highlighting the distinctiveness of Anglican choral traditions. I’m continually astonished at the way certain parts of the church continue to denigrate and destroy this essential part of our inheritance and its vital role to help evangelise and inspire.

Asserting that a view is "merely true" and that ones voice is "always that of youth to come" doesn't do much to dispel charges of arrogance

Anyone worth listening to wouldn't spend their life slagging off their former church. Worth considering why he feels the need to be in the spotlight.

A reminder that he was a "honorary" chaplain to the Queen, one of many, not her personal chaplain, and he was ordained a Bishop by a schismatic church of about three people. Ashenden is a man disappointed he didn't get the recognition he thinks he deserves and should be ignored.

I'm a relatively chill sort of guy, always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. But these better have a cast iron explanation for why they chose to vote this way. Or they should consider if they are in the right job.

hoops of the SMMIB, even though most on the ground know this money rarely makes its way to urban priority or rural areas, but rather which ever trends are currently in vogue. Bishops have voted to make life for the majority of parishes harder. 3/.

So to clarify. At a time when the CofE is suffering an unprecedented vocations and attendance crisis, which requires clergy to spend every hour they can afford on mission, the Bishops, those with pastoral responsibity for the clergy and the chief missioner 1/.

Astonishing. 22 bishops voted against a groundbreaking proposal to redirect a mere 1% of the Church Commissioners enormous wealth to fund impoverished parishes and bankrupt dioceses. Now they will need to return to their dioceses and demand parish shares go up. Shame on them.

Found this in a copy of the 1928 Prayer Book. Obviously Joyson-Hicks signs off in his capacity as Home Secretary and Wales is mentioned because the first paragraph predates disestablishment. But does anyone know why Berwick upon Tweed is mentioned separately?

I would say my only concern with this appointment (other than a limited amount of incumbent experience) is her distinct lack of rural ministry experience, which might be a problem in Constable Country. But I'm sure the CnC knows what they are doing.
