I was told Rodri coming back from his ACL by May meant Colwill will also be back by the end of the season. I think not.
Guardiola says that Rodri suffered a 'big injury' at the Club World Cup and he isn't expecting him to be 'really fit' until after the first international break

I think Delap was good at the things we expect him to be good at and bad at the things we thought he’d be bad at. His angles suck in the press and he cannot pass the ball, but he runs behind very well, attacks crosses. Very situationally useful.
@KierDoyle Would love to hear your thought on how Delap is getting on.

A little uncomfortable with baiting and being patient with pressure near but totally adequate against a team that would be ~7-10 in the PL.
Gonna bump this and again say Josh should get CCB minutes. Not Colwill level but much better passer than Fofana. You do not need a unicorn-passer like Colwill at CCB to be a strong squad, just someone who is comfortable. You missed out on Huijsen, use this opportunity for Josh.

4 separate lineups. 1: Sanchez - James Tosin Trev Cucu - Enzo Caicedo - Neto Palmer Gittens - JP. 2: Jorg - Gusto Josh AA Hato - Lavia Essugo - Estevao Santos George - Delap. Who gets mixed into the starters depends on that half.
how do we think the gaffa is going to split up minutes in the next two games then.

I think the CCB thing is overblown. Colwill was the CCB in build much less frequently last season than you’d think. You can stick a non passer there no problem. But yeah, just use Benwa same role as Colwill. Best non Colwill passer at CB by a mile.
@KierDoyle Kieran if we don't sign a centre back who's your pick to play CCB? Badiashille when he's back and hope he can stay fit? Who would you play for the first few games?.

Chelsea have A LOT of money from sales + prize money. They should break the bank for Bastoni.

Some of this depends on what graft he got. Current gold standard is quad tendon. Has less incidence of alternative injuries (patellar tendinopathy ex.). But very high probability he’s “normal” by middle of next season. Would say World Cup would be his target but tough b.

Been going through my own ACL journey, here’s the data. Average clearance to return to play (training) is 9 months. Retear rate of return to matches at 9 months is almost 10%. Re-tear rate at 12 months is <2%. Most players reported feeling back to “normal” at 18-24 months.

I would just sit on one of the guys you’re having trouble moving (Disasi or Veiga), more Josh CB mins. Play Benwa a lot more when fit (more or less perfect role to role swap).
Still think we don't need a new CB ?.
