Tune in on Thursday!
Enjoyed yesterday’s ‘From preprint to publication’ webinar featuring @RogerPocockMelb Next week, @EstermannMartin will talk to Laura Kerosuo about her work on neural crest stem cell potential - work that was preLighted by Andrew Montequin. Register here: https://t.co/ltbq97pksu

Adameyko lab is hiring! We search for an experimentalist postdoc (preferably with a bit of computational skills) to work with us on the enigma of craniofacial development. The major project is focused on mechanisms scaling up the skull and introducing facial individuality.

Our paper that challenges #gastrulation by showing #pluripotency signature in the entire #ectoderm as bases for #neuralcrest stem cell potential formation was chosen to the editor's highlights at @NatureComms / stem cells. Very proud of the whole team! https://t.co/o1fzdJW1Li

New information on pigment formation! #neuralcrest
The latest results from our ongoing collaboration with @MasahikoHibi and @HisashiHashimoto A gene regulatory network combining Pax3/7, Sox10 and Mitf generates diverse pigment cell types in medaka and zebrafish

https://t.co/BpChjlNCsP A nice summary of our new paper @NatureComms explaining a paradigm shifting finding about #gastrulation: the #ectoderm does not lose the pluripotency signature, which enables maintenance of the exceptionally high stemness of #neuralcrest @NIDCR

Hieno tiivistelmä uudesta työstämme @NatureComms: osoitamne miten hermostopiena saavuttaa poikkeuksellisen kantasolumaisuutensa. Alkio ei menetäkään monikykyisyyttään gastrulaatiossa, mikä mahdollistaa kasvojen, lisämunuisen ja monien kehon kudosten kehityksen. Kiitos @pajanoja
Tutkijat ovat saaneet uutta tietoa alkionkehityksen tärkeimmästä varhaisvaiheesta. Tutkimustulokset auttavat ymmärtämään monia synnynnäisiä kehityshäiriöitä paremmin. @KerosuoLab @helsinkiuni @NIH https://t.co/DuwMe7tUeR

Interesting!! Check out the new paper from the Theneveau lab!
#EMT is an early event in cell dissemination from epithelial tissues. @EricTheveneau &co show that in frog embryos the #metalloproteinase MMP28 is produced by placodes & acts inside the nucleus of neighboring neural crest cells to trigger EMT #PLOSBiology

Check out our work @NatureComms! A result of an enjoyable and fruitful multidisciplinary @NIDCR collaboration with the Werner lab @werner_achim revealing how a @ubiquitin based post- translational mechanism orchestrates early cranial ectodermal patterning. 🐣#devbio #NeuralCrest
When #ubiquitin meets🐣 @NIDCR: check out our inspiring collaboration with @kerosuoLab, revealing how early brain, craniofacial and skin development are coordinated by a monoubiquitylation-based switch. Now out @NatureComms at https://t.co/VkoOkLw8zm Thank you to the team!

Very proud of my student @jennhsin at her first conference and also happy for seeing her fully enjoy it!! #anr2023. We received a lot to digest and got to enjoy Amsterdam #neuroblastoma #neuralcrest
Learned so much at #anr2023 last week, it was really an amazing conference. Also got to present a poster at my first big scientific conference- got great feedback/ideas so thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Check out the new preLights featuring Ceren’s @pajanoja work! Thank you Andrew @RefriedEctoderm for highlighting our research 🙏🙏 #NeuralCrest #pluripotency
When does the embryo finally lose #pluripotency? @pajanoja and team at the @KerosuoLab identify a transcriptional signature of pluripotency that is maintained throughout #neurulation in the #ectoderm. #preLight by Andrew Montequin @RefriedEctoderm. 👉 https://t.co/TZJkuRIu8z

Pluripotency genes are co-expressed in the developing neural crest at all axial levels independent of the future neural crest lineage they will commit to. We also show broad ectodermal pluripotency in mouse embryos, suggesting a conserved mechanism across vertebrates. 7/7 🐥🐭

Morpholino-mediated knockdown of individual pluripotency genes shows defects in “common stem cell regulation” whereas no signs of the pluripotency genes promoting a specific neural crest future lineage were detected, suggesting a lineage-independent role in neural crest formation
