With so much uncertainty facing our industry, it was welcome to see several directives straight from @MassBio’s policy agenda focused on innovation and patient benefit. The lengthy list, unfortunately, also includes ideas that would slow the development of new treatments & cures.

I am deeply troubled by the significant and arbitrary dismissal of #HHS and #FDA employees. We strongly encourage the Administration to reconsider cuts to the government agencies that ensure the continued development of novel medicines. My full statement:

A bipartisan group of legislators – including @USRepKeating —have introduced the ORPHAN Cures Act to address a problematic element of the drug price negotiation program. We call on Congress to pass this bill quickly to stand on the side of patients and innovation once again.

Though much has been done, vital work remains to ensure the innovation engine keeps humming here. How does Massachusetts stay the place where people come to see excellence and be inspired? The LSI is the vehicle and our @MassBio Vision 2030 strategic plan is the roadmap.

Our @MassBio biopharma funding report is out! In 2024, we saw venture firms invest in startups with promising data and pharma companies acquire and partner with biotechs with advanced pipelines. We also witnessed Boston overtake Cambridge on VC dollars.
