I spent my teens on a corporation estate in Limerick. Unemployment was 3 times what it is now. Welfare was a pittance and there were few resources for teenagers.
What we had was parental responsibility, discipline and zero tolerance of criminality.

We went where they wanted immigrants and could accommodate them.
