The week after next, my undergraduate student has a chance to present at the State Capitol. This will bring a fresh opportunity to communicate my passion for research and why I do what I do. I feel so powerless yet I have to be strong for the sake of those that count on me.

While Twitter or bluesky provides a community to share and gain thoughts, even sometimes take actions, I felt that it was disconnected from the audience who really needed to hear what was going on. Family, friends, old acquaintances, individuals outside of science circles.

I've been away from social media for the last few weeks, in an attempt to focus to regain control of financial circumstance for the lab. Meanwhile, I have not stayed silent, just switched ways to communicate to those around me about science and science funding.

生前中母はよく「カー君はむこうで頑張りなさい」と言ってくれてました。でも本当は母はもっと私に傍にいてほしかったんだと思います。今回母を訪れて心から「ごめんなさい」という気持ちになりました。そんな無念と執念の入り混じった心にこんな昔の曲が聞こえてきました。.

長い病気から解放され母が亡くなってから十年、色々あって時間かかった結果今回初めてお墓参りとなったのですが。. 私が留学を決意したのは当時はなんとなくだったのですが、今ならはっきりと母の病気をなんとかしたいと思う使命感に元図いていたんだと解ります。.
