@mini_bubbly When is it Ford’s turn? The list of shady dealings grows daily yet other than the Auditor General’s revealing report, little, if anything, is being done. Privatization is stealthily taking away our public supports. Public funds not allocated where needed. @rcmpgrcpolice

@RichardCityNews Closing 11 existing outlets with 70 days notice costs, operators liable for leases, had to sign NDAs and not talk to media. Those jobs lost to Staples $17-19/hour staffing their outlets. Free car registration $1.1 billion of lost revenue, cost cutting. Endgame union busting?

@mynamesnotgordy Will someone please close the door of Ontario after Ford sells off our Canadian businesses and assets to the Americans. Do Ontarians know what’s happening? Tax dollars meant for education, healthcare and social supports are going to foreign-based corporations and equity firms

@RGBAtlantica @Joanna20222 @EthicsCanada @CPC_HQ @TwitterSafety @twittersecurity @AnaPoilievre @PierrePoilievre I agree. Delete it! Disrespectful of our Prime Minister and Kathleen Wynne, the former Premier of Ontario. Why does Twitter allow disgusting memes to remain — and after many reports? Yet an innocuous even silly joke will be tagged.

@David_Moscrop Headline is misleading. Ottawa imposes a federal "backstop" carbon price on provinces that do not have a carbon pricing plan of their own. Quebec & B.C. have their own carbon pricing, B.C. since 2008 ➡️Manitoba is in fact working on a proposal, and not joining the braying PCs.

@Billius27 Concepts like asymptomatic need to be simplified. Such as, “Even if you have no symptoms, you could carry the virus and infect others. Public health needs a province-wide campaign to educate the public, long overdue — instead the government has funded partisan advertising!

@BedardKerri @KinjNS 😢😢😢❤️ As a Canadian living in Ontario, I pray we can maintain our public healthcare and not transfer public funds to profit-making private corporations. Generally, we’re good people but a few have drinking the Kool aid. Little do they realize how good we have it here. 🇨🇦

@TDotResident @MarieTattersall Losing LCBO revenue 422 beer stores will slowly be reduced to 300, closing 122 stores, and resulting in more unemployment — like the Service Ontario independent businesses forced to close, contractors left liable for termination of employees and leases. #RCMPOnt

@MissySpd @knows_jill @CanadianinAB Nada — he could have negotiated lower tolls to relieve congestion on 401 — but that would mean cancelling the 59 km $10 billion Hwy 413. We’re losing farms, wetlands, wild life. Developers had purchased land along the route. Donors?

@timethief @DustyGrimmer Beautiful—please consider submitting to several publications as a letter to editor. Some will publish. Wise leadership guided and supported us throughout these challenges and continues. Non-partisan issues yet instead of bringing us together, the CPC attacks and divides. 😢

A must-read thread — “When private clinics are able to peel off the easy surgeries, that actually raises the average complexity and cost of the surgeries that must remain in hospitals.” Seniors and disabled will suffer the most.

“The Ford Conservatives are underfunding our health care system so badly that hospitals and long-term care homes are left with no choice but to use these private nursing agencies. This not only costs all of us more money, it further drains workers from the public system."

Sylvia Jones has no credibility. Jones stated facts matter in this discussion regarding private agency nursing where they have decreased in the province of Ont. Fact, under Sylvia Jones, in 2023, the cost for private agency staff increased to $1B dollars.

@drmwarner The high rates of Covid deaths in privately-owned LTCs are a strong indication that for-profit healthcare focuses on shareholder value creation, not quality of care. Unless, of course, the patient has the means to pay for upsell services.

@rodmickleburgh @GriffinBlakely @JustinTrudeau I view this hatred as misplaced anger and fear of a changing world fuelled by distortions, misinformation, disinformation, ignorance and often a lack of Canadian Civics knowledge. The ugly underbelly of social media. A spillover from the U.S. far right.

@SteveClarkPC Motion based on misinformation? 23% of 14 cents is 3 cents/litre of gas. Mitigating climate change—carbon tax increases, rebates increase. The quarterly carbon tax rebate, CCR, will be deposited mid-April. For more than 80% of Canadians, the rebates exceed their outlay.

@Sflecce @PeelSchools Larger classes, too few EAs, post-pandemic behavioural problems, increased violence, reduced staffing, poorly ventilated petri-dish classrooms, high absenteeism bc of illness and more. Mr. Lecce MoE, connect the dots. Ford government’s underfunding public education is costly.

@RichardCityNews Great news. Accountability should not be an “ask” though. So much blatant shenanigans and misappropriation of public funds, it’s like whack-a-mole trying to investigate the Ford government’s “deals”. As well as the Auditor General, the RCMP are presumably holding a mallet too.

@Scribulatora CBC is a public broadcaster; it is not “state” media. However, it appears to be the only media correcting misinformation and challenging out-of-context “facts” with non-partisan reporting. That doesn’t make it Libéral now or throughout the past 70 years.

@aintnosatchmo @ColinDMello $200 ($250 spec ed) Per child attending private or public school. Parents have to apply online. Ironically called “catch up payments” when these amounts would provide little if any catch up… Are enough qualified tutors available to help every Ontario student for say 2-3 hours?

@KingaSurmaMPP The real cost — Destruction of nature trails — hikers, joggers, cyclists, classes, families, bird watchers (it’s on a migratory path) 🪓 800 trees 🦉 Pebble beach: fishes populate water, also a rest area for migrating birds. All this destruction for what? Not “for the people”.

@mynamesnotgordy Let’s not forget the debacle to come—the secret leasing of public land in Ontario Place to Austrian-based Therme to build a mega “wellness if you’re wealthy” centre on the West Island. Then it’s the Ontario Science Centre—on leased land the city and a conservation authority own.

@CP24 The funds are urgently needed for staffing and equipping our schools. Giving parents “up to” $250 per child for their “catching up is ludicrous. Yet another bribe — distributing taxpayers’ money as if it’s largesse, meanwhile dismantling education and healthcare.
