New: CA Secretary of State's office confirms CALeg needs to declare special election on redistricting by Aug. 22 if they want it to be on Nov. 4. They're on recess until the 18th. Lawmakers will have five days to finalize maps, ballot initiative and take public comment.

If Sacramento Dems go along with Gov Newsom’s plan to GERRYMANDER our state, it will be the greatest betrayal of our democratic process. Our independent redistricting commission was set up to STOP corruption like this. This is a total NONSTARTER.
CA faces a $20 billion budget deficit and is cutting services for the elderly and those on hospice, but Gov. Gavin Newsom and CA Democrats want to spend $250 million on a special election so politicians can manipulate the lines of their districts! VOTE. THEM. OUT.
