Missing my friend, @LibbyMbc, today. Another dear friend just dx with #MBC, & several others are reporting significant progression. Friendship, love, & advocacy in & for the MBC community is hard. Many thx to @LibbyMbc’s sister, @kimpo393, for this quote. It’s been my fuel today.

I always see #OurKady in all the beauty around me. I couldn’t help but think about what this gorgeous sunrise looks like from Kady and @LibbyMbc heavenly perspective. ‘No more night, no more pain, no more tears, never crying again.’ #HerLegacyLivesOn #MBCHero #MBC #FUMBC #Love

I’m passionate about helping #MBC patients. $5 today might be $5k next month, but it all adds up to love, kindness & compassion. "Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more."-Louis L'Amour #OurKady #MBCHero #FUMBC.

Lost another friend to #MetastaticBreastCancer bc <5% of research funding for #breastcancer is directed to the ONLY form of breastcancer you die from & we’ll lose 116 to MBC today & every go🤬🤬amn day hereafter until bureaucrats realize that MBC is never pink but is always fatal.

I’m sorry about your family member’s dx, but you made me chuckle with ‘fellow carcinomies’!!! 🤣.

Fellow carcinomies, we have a family friend newly diagnosed with stage 2B non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Tell me, who is the doc she needs to see!? #bcsm @ThanksCancer @BSBreastCancer @christeeny513 @itsnot_pink.

I used that in a hashtag last week and was redirected to a message asking me if I was sure I wanted to use ‘that word’ as many find it offensive! On Twitter! LMAO! #fuckallcancers.

RT @LibbyMbc: Did you know that 30% of young women who are diagnosed before 40 are either pregnant or postpartum ? Yet rather than be more….

Not a cancer pt. but I advocate for the MBC community. Daily I see a post about progression, pain, bad test results, etc., I always feel so inadequate saying, ‘I’m sorry’. As a cancer patient, what helps & comforts vs. what feels dismissive and/or trite after posting bad news?.

As #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth "winds down," the reality of #breastcancer & #metastaticbreastcancer will be just as real on Tues when Nov starts. Why do I do what I do with @SideOutFndn? For tomorrows. So others can see their daughters looking beautiful at homecoming. #ForMaureen

Here’s to research breakthroughs, more/better drug therapies, and many, many more years of enjoying celebrating with your love! 🍻❤️.

Two years metastatic today. Gorgeous day. Empanadas and arcade games later with my love. Celebrating and giving thanks for being alive and functional. Sending love and hugs to those struggling today.

My beautiful granddaughter, Bella has heterochromia - two different colored eyes. But just like her personality is extra, her heterochromia is extra, also. One eye is blue and the other is multicolored. She calls it her rainbow eye.

If you walk away b/c watching someone die is difficult, you’re the asshole. It isn’t about you - yet. There’ll be time for you to grieve later. Right now it’s all about making them know they’re loved & cared for. #kindnessmatters #beagiver #givetilitfeelsgood.

The worst thing about terminal cancer, terminal anything maybe, is the loneliness. It's the way so many people walk away. They didn't sign up for this. You're too sad now. They'd be too sad when you died if they are close to you. They go on with their lives and you stand still.

Yes to all of this! Trying to delegate responsibilities while sick from cancer treatments is very often too much. “It’s all about taking the burden off the patient.”.

Instead of saying something like, “Let me know if you need anything” … here are a few simple actions you can take to support a cancer patient. It’s all about taking the burden off the patient. Don’t always assume they will ask for help. Most of us won’t.

My daughter, #OurKady, went from flipping huge tires at Cross Training to dying of #metastaticbreastcancer 27 months later. She was a Human Resources Director, one semester from college grad & a small biz owner. Her bright future was stolen by a disease that kills 116 every day.

Father, died of lung cancer at 59; Mother, died of MBC at 58; Daughter, Kady, died of MBC at 30; Daughter, Kelley, had Melanoma 2x. Was a no brainer for me to opt for Prophylactic Double Mastectomy. 10’s of billions in research but no significant improvement in MBC for 30 years.
