As of 3 p.m., Aug.26, SPP's 14-state balancing authority area (which includes Kansas) is no longer under an EEA1. Due to continuing high temperatures and tightened electric reliability conditions, it remains in a period of conservative operations until 8 p.m., Aug. 27.

As the weather warms up and we prepare for garage sales, please remember not to post signs on power poles. The nails and staples used to hang these signs can cause damage to lineworker safety gear and lead to injuries for lineworkers.

Spring is in the air which means it's garage sale time! As a reminder, please don't post your garage sale signs on power poles. Staples, nails and other fasteners often get left behind, creating a safety hazard for lineworkers.
