While conditions have improved, the SPP anticipates load & generation fluctuation over the next 24 hours, & conditions could change rapidly. Kansas electric co-op members should continue to follow their local utility’s directions regarding safety, conservation & potential outages

As of 3 p.m., Aug.26, SPP's 14-state balancing authority area (which includes Kansas) is no longer under an EEA1. Due to continuing high temperatures and tightened electric reliability conditions, it remains in a period of conservative operations until 8 p.m., Aug. 27.

Americans have more info available than ever before, which includes info about your electricity provider. In Kansas, our average retail price of electricity for all customers is 10.47 cents/kWh, according to the @EIAgov. That’s 5.7% below the U.S. average of 11.10 cents/kWh.

As the weather warms up and we prepare for garage sales, please remember not to post signs on power poles. The nails and staples used to hang these signs can cause damage to lineworker safety gear and lead to injuries for lineworkers.

Spring is in the air which means it's garage sale time! As a reminder, please don't post your garage sale signs on power poles. Staples, nails and other fasteners often get left behind, creating a safety hazard for lineworkers.
