Spent a decade saying Nintendo should bring back K. Rool until fans voted him into the best-selling fighter. Now vibing until Nintendo shows what's next for DK.
This Mario Movie track, "Drivin' Me Bananas," beautifully adapts the DKC theme and DK Island Swing for the big screen. Truly wonderful work by
@BrianTylerMusic
and Koji Kondo. Now, imagine if Nintendo/Illumination brought
@David_Wise
onboard to help compose for the DK movie!
A small character moment I enjoyed on a Mario Movie rewatch: Mario gives DK a friendly shoulder punch after he blows up the Blue Shell’s kart. DK is…less than pleased.

In Monsters Inc. when Sully and Mike were walking to work, they encountered Ted, a giant Godzilla-like monster who clucks. According to the DVD commentary, Ted was meant to have the actual Godzilla roar, but Pixar couldn't secure permission to use the roar from Toho.

Dear Nintendo: If you're not going to let fans listen to your game soundtracks on YouTube, at least give us a legal way to purchase/stream them. Holding these soundtracks hostage in the name of "cOpYrIgHt PrOtEcTiOn" benefits nobody.
Imagine my thrill in finding this response from

in my mailbox this morning. I think I speak for everyone who signed in saying all the loving attention to detail in the new K. Rool footage has made our gratitude to

and co. grow even more profound.

mobile app was datamined and several Donkey Kong related stickers were found, all but confirming the existence of the rumored DK expansion. Nintendo EPD has big plans for DK, and if you can't hear them coming, you haven't been listening...
Mario wouldn't exist without Donkey Kong, and Sonic wouldn't exist without Mario. The video game industry would look completely different had it not been for the success of Donkey Kong and Nintendo's entrance into the console market. The titular ape deserves it more than anyone.
Aron Tager, the voice of Cranky Kong in the Donkey Kong Country animated series, passed away recently at the age of 84. He was, in our opinion, the definitive Cranky. Thank you, Aron, for lending your voice to such a beloved character. You will be missed.
Animal Crossing Twitter: "I ish a soft and wholesome pastel babby~~ uwu"
Also Animal Crossing Twitter: "Let's commit genocide against the gorilla and chicken villagers because they're not conventionally cute."
I'm glad that Sephiroth gets to join the Smash villains club and be in group photos with K. Rool and company, but another villain is sorely missing: Dr. Eggman. He's arguably the most iconic character period—not just villain—yet to be playable in Smash. Sonic needs his rival too!
If Nintendo is willing to celebrate the 41st birthday of a character they don't even own, surely they'll acknowledge Donkey Kong's 40th anniversary.
...right?
IGN can exclusively announce Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a new Smash Bros-like fighting game featuring characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ren & Stimpy, and more!
"Nintendo should own Banjo-Kazooie. Microsoft has done nothing with the IP." Bro, there hasn't been a new Donkey Kong game in almost eight years. Imagine how dead Banjo would be. Furthermore, none of Nintendo's internal studios would be able to recapture Banjo's British humour.
Now that the Donkey Kong characters and Banjo-Kazooie are reunited, we need a special version of Rare Replay for the Nintendo Switch that includes the Donkey Kong games and Star Fox Adventures. Retweet if you agree!
@NintendoAmerica
"It's just a background detail that most people won't notice. Who cares?"
Maybe, but here's the obligatory base game comparison. It's a night and day difference. They didn't even ATTEMPT to update the assets when they ported them over from Tour.
This is embarrassing. The Mario characters aren't allowed to have personalities, apparently. Nintendo is all for recycling old voice clips as long as they don't give the characters too much personality. They want Mario and company to be sanitized, kid-friendly corporate mascots.
Never forget that the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot was Satoru Iwata's idea. He wanted us—the fans—to have a voice, which resulted in K. Rool returning after a decade-long absence. We owe everything to this wonderful man. Thank you, Iwata-san. Your legacy will never be forgotten.
I'm convinced that most of the "big" Nintendo Twitter accounts are bots who farm engagement by recycling the same tweets that have already gone viral 50 times. They're regurgitating the same talking points, but Kirby Star Allies wasn't unfinished; the level design was just bad.
@NintendoAmerica
We'll miss you, Reggie. You brought smiles to millions of faces, including ours. I'll never forget that magical moment when you introduced Donkey Kong Country Returns at E3 for the first time.

has some pretty big shoes to fill, but we know he'll do a great job!
Gang-Plank Galleon's view count has, rather triumphantly, surpassed the debut presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with a stunning 7.9 million views. It's on the path to >10 million now!
Mario Party Superstars has, deservingly, become the first game in the series to hit 80 on Metacritic. Hopefully we're treated to some character and board DLC in the new year. Diddy Kong and Dry Bones, anyone?
NoA allegedly polled "content creators" about scariest enemies and just so happened to get exclusively mainstream results from Mario and Zelda. Translation: "These are the characters we're allowed to market. Please buy our games." You're telling me that Boo is scarier than these?
Last call: We’re in the process of assembling a thank you card for Sakurai and Nintendo. If you’d like to be included, please send us your desired name either by responding to this tweet or DMing us by 6:00 PM EST tomorrow.
90% of the people complaining about the game selection would play EarthBound for ten minutes and then go back to Smash. I wish Nintendo fans would approach these games with an open mind instead of hating on everything that isn't mainstream or a first-party Nintendo franchise.
Additional games have now been added to the

I have tremendous sympathy for the Rayman fanbase. Not only was Rayman passed over as a playable character two Smash games in a row, but Ubisoft refuses to make a new Rayman game and Michel Ancel, Rayman's creator and number one advocate, has retired from the video game industry.
Mario Kart is already Nintendo's most lucrative IP. Turning it into "Smash Kart" would dilute the brand. Before they add characters from other Nintendo franchises, they should explore the extended Mario universe by introducing characters from DKC, Mario & Luigi, WarioWare, etc.
They've been doing this for years. Why do you think they keep recycling voice clips in Mario spin-off games? It's so they don't have to pay Charles Martinet, Kate Higgins, etc. to come in and record new lines. It's probably the same reason why Pokémon doesn't have VA yet; money.
- Fire Emblem has a habit of replacing union voice actors with non-umion voice actors
- Charles Martinet wasn't considered for the Mario movie
- Hellena Taylor was replaced as Bayonetta because she wanted a decent pay
Beginning to think Nintendo doesn't care about voice actors
Martinet's performance in Mario vs. Donkey Kong will always be my favorite. It's a shame we rarely got to hear him voice any complete sentences in mainline Mario games. Martinet is such an enormous talent that finding a replacement will be tough.
"Come back here you big monkey!"
