One thing I'm pretty excited about is how well I've seemingly been able to push the compression whilst maintaining quality. Our sample animation is a ~1 second clip of a walk cycle, that uncompressed sits at ~700kb. It's not a perfect example asset, but it's what I got on hand

Summarized:.-Realistic style introduces a lot of noise and needs camera motion to properly convey actions for clarity. -Stylized approach focuses more on smooth, larger transitioning motions between strong poses and holds and don't need to rely as much on shakes for clarity.

I personally want to move away from realism in the media I make these days- but there's a huge audience that prefer "virtual realism", and that's completely fine of course. It's all just preference, and that's ultimately what we see being expressed in this conversation.

But so, my point being that I think a lot of <non animators> see the MW style as "genericly shaky" after seeing it emulated so much in modern games- since it does feel quite samey after a while. But hey, this is basically what to aim for when shooting for realism in my opinion.
