The thing is. He isn't. Yeah Shuji *is* weird, sniffing other's hair is not normal but being weird is what makes a newtype a newtype, specially if Shuji is a cybernewtype. But were pointing the fingers at the wrong subject. Machu and Nyan have made.

Annqi is dead wrong here, she was the one to push Machu to fight in Clan Battle's and look for her own motive to fight for. Not only that but she wanted to keep for herself the money Machu and Shuji won by fighting. Annqi doesn't understand Machu's intentions (+).
annqi was a real one for this. I mean, at least shiiko threw everything away to seek revenge for her old mav, who was a woman. now, machu is making stupid decisions, all for a murder hobo who sniffed her hair.

3.- Both Machu and Nyan use Shuji as a scapegoat for their in fantasies and dreams, being more of a tool to them than a love interest. This lost freedom both of them want and that Shuji represents, and they're using him as a way of achieving said freedom.

Worse things around Shuji which could be directly be considered abuse. 1.- Nyan and Machu decided to strip their clothes and lay in the Gundam alongside Shuji who was acting strange while lying flat in it, spoilers, Shuji had a fever and none of the girls even noticed.

Nyan's true nature was unveiled last episode. She's a person that craves power, control over others and wants the universe to do what *SHE* wants. The whole topic of the universe responding to her is a key topic of the episode, and with her joining Zeon is even worse.

First off, Machu uses Shuji as a means to an end, ignoring he's a human and just seeing him as a way for her to finally be free from the fake world she lives in. She's immature, hot headed and is flying too close to the sun just like Icarus, and we all know what happened to him.

Shuji is a bad influence to both of them, a kind of free man who just do what he feels like doing, that also wants to go to earth in search of the Rose of Sharon, while supposedly talking to the Red Gundam like a schyzofrenic would do. Definitely not the person for the girls.

I think something tragic about this episode is how Amuro gives his mom a loving hug at the start . But after the incident with Zeon soldiers, near the end he gives her a salute and they just leave it at that
