I've gone to Blender and never looked back. I loved SFM, it was a good stepping stone; an entry point into animation. But the limitations and the compromises started weighing heavily on me whenever I animated. Going to Blender was one of the best choices I've made in my life.
Please for the love of god stay far away from SFM. Learn Blender instead (was a SFM user for over 8 years before learning glorious blender) never looked back.
