🎥 Today I called on the Treasury to protect rural pubs. Recent tax changes have caused real stress, and we must ensure mistakes aren’t repeated. Business rates for pubs need urgent attention to keep these community hubs thriving. #NorthYorkshire #Pubs #BusinessRates

Over the past year, I’ve been campaigning to make our education system more inclusive, especially for children with special educational needs. In Parliament, I’ve raised concerns about support for pupils with autism, pushed for early intervention, and called for better teacher

Great to meet Andrew and Rachel Hatton in Parliament recently and learn more about their farm, business, and the incredible Stonebeck Cheese they produce. Local, nature-friendly farming like this is vital for our communities and the environment. #Agroecology #LocalFarming

This is a huge u-turn by the government and a big win for the Conservative Party's campaign against Labour's Family Farm Tax. Earlier this year, I was told to drop our campaign, that there weren’t many votes in it, there weren't many farmers, and people assumed they were wealthy

🚜 I welcome today’s announcement raising Agricultural & Business Property Relief thresholds to £2.5m. Whilst this is a step in the right direction to protect family farms and rural communities, I will continue to raise the concerns of our rural communities in Westminster. Read

Fantastic to see the Punch Bowl Inn reopening today in Burton in Lonsdale after an incredible community effort. I was pleased to support the effort to secure funding through the Community Ownership Fund along with Cllr David Ireton. A fantastic example of local determination.

Concerned to see a rise in the claimant count for unemployment-related benefits in Skipton & Ripon last month. While our rate is still below the UK average, every increase matters. I’m focused on supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for young people to get into

I’ve joined colleagues in signing a cross-party letter to the Chancellor urging urgent action on business rates. Pubs and breweries are vital to our communities and economy, and rising costs risk closures and jobs. #pubs #breweries
