Great gull session at the Research Park today with @Duerdenc1. At least 10 Caspian Gulls and over 20 colour-rings read but a shame the Long Drove Glaucous Gulls are reluctant to drop in @CambsBirdClub

What can you give to a river that needs everything? This Christmas I decided to give my river the gift of life, in the form of willows trees. I headed out on the River Roding in my canoe, from sunrise to sunset on the shortest day of the year, to see if I could hand harvest &

After slim pickings all year, 2 Cambs ticks come along in 4 days. It's about time @rachel_lennard had her finder's initials in the Cambs annual report

Penduline Tit still at Ouse Fen (Lockspits Mere) at dusk this evening. An excellent find by @rachel_lennard, only the sixth record in Cambs and the first since 2014 (also Ouse Fen in Dec). @CambsBirdClub

It is no coincidence that bats & newts are receiving flack for supposedly stopping infrastructure, house building & other development. These are some of the only wildlife which has substantive protections, both on the creatures themselves & their habitat. Most other parts of

Little Auk at Grafham Water today. First seen off Mander car park before it drifted into Valley Creek and onto the shoreline, then it was sadly taken by a Red Kite. All over in about 20 mins from when I first saw it @CambsBirdClub

Good to see several Marsh Tits still persisting at a local woodland today. They are becoming tricky to see in Cambridgeshire, which is a massive shame as they are such characterful birds @CambsBirdClub

1500 pink footed geese feeding ⁦@WWTWelney⁩ on lady fen. Birds reacting to less sugar beet grown in Norfolk this year? Would be lovely if they became regular in the Fens again

Yesterday came the news about the decision to declare Slender-billed Curlew extinct. It's my ultimate favourite bird, so it is quite tough to face this realization. You can read more about it here: https://t.co/0b53yh9GMg... Here are some of my illusrtations and paintings.
