4 mammal paintings available on prints: 3 Grey Wolves, from an art project in Slovenia (had an encounter shown on the first painting). My first Wildcat inspired the last painting: found the remains of that woodpecker after seeing the cat, so I've imagined the hunting scene.

Hungary has the 2nd biggest Great Bustard population in Europe. There are a lot of people whose hard work secure their numbers. 2 prints: a study on the left, based on my observations during the covid period. On the right is a watercolour, showing their intense mating behaviour.

Slender-billed Curlew has officially been declared extinct yesterday. I will treasure all these artworks from fellow artists even more! Anyone who has a sketch, pencil drawing, etc. of thsi species laying around, I'm interested to make a swap!

2 more shorebird paintings: a Spoon-billed watercolour study, based on my 2013 trip to China. 2nd is an oil, titled 'We are all young' of various shorebirds observed in Hungary. I won the Swarovski/Birdwatch Artist of the Year prize with it in 2008. Both are available as prints.

My all time favourite bird: Slender-billed Curlew, that has recently declared to be extinct. The 1st is a watercolor, titled 'A new hope'. The 2nd is an oil, titled 'Alone', based on the exact habitat, where my friends observed a bird in 2001. Both are available as giclée prints.

Eurasian Dotterels on Hortobágy, watercolour on paper. It's the 25th birdwatchers's meeting in Hungary this weekend, this painting will be one of the prizes of the bird race of Saturday.

Merlins were attacking the Western Sandpiper flocks regularly, I could observe 4-5 hunts every day, and they were incredibly effective. I tried to catch such scene on this studio painting. Watercolour and gouache on paper.

I'm sorry for the long silence! I will introduce you to our Artists for Nature Foundation project in Alaska! I could spend 2 weeks with other artists and naturalists in the Cordova area. One of our base was on Sea Otter Island, where I had chance to study Western Sandpipers.

I had a very adventurous May, starting with 2 incredible weeks in the Copper River Delta area in Alaska, then a pacemaker implantation in Hungary! In the coming days I will share more info about the former. Back in work, scanning my sketches from Alaska.

It was World Rewilding Day yesterday ( https://t.co/EaBnhxWA9h ), decided to spend it on an artifically managed part of the Kiskunság National Park (a fishpond and a flooded wetland). Black-tailed Godwit and Marsh Harrier sketches from a drained pond.
